SAN FRANCISCO --  The Asian Pacific Islander Community Partnership, together with the San Francisco Department of Aging and Adult Services, the Office of District 11 Supervisor John Avalos and the Corpus Christi Church, is pleased to announce the first annual community resource event in the Excelsior district in San Francisco.

The event is to be held on Friday, 6th of November, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the  Corpus Christi Parish Hall on 62 Santa Rosa St. corner Alemany St. in San Francisco.

The event is also dubbed as ‘mini-connect resource fair’ because it aims to get the people in need of services and assistance and the service and information providers connected. Hopefully, these ‘connections’ would provide solutions to everyone’s problems.

The event is an opportunity for residents and others who seek help or have needs pertaining to housing, immigration, legal issues, Medicare drug assistance and enrollment, health screenings, telephone access, in-home supportive services, social security, veterans benefit, disability services, meals, caregiving issues, services for LGBT seniors, among others. The resources come from the many invited government and community based service agencies and programs.

The event is open to the public and it is free. Please inform and encourage your relatives and friends to come to the event and avail these resources and services.

The “Mini-Connect Resource Fair” is a collaborative project of the API Community Partnership whose members include the San Francisco Veterans Equity Center, Canon Kip Senior Center, Aging and Disability Resource Center, Openhouse, Family Caregiver Alliance, Department of Aging and Adult Services, Community Health Resource Center, Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach, Kimochi, and Chinatown CDC.  For more information call the Aging and Disability Resource Center at 415-487-3370.
