PBRC elect 2012 officers
DALY CITY, Calif. – In an election January 9 at the Pilipino Bayanihan Resource Center offices here, 2012 officers of the board were elected. They are:
President -Erlinda Galeon; Vice President - Bradley Roxas; Secretary - Helen Casaclang, and Treasurer- Dory Paniza. Three of the officers are members of the Daly City Library Commission including Roxas, who was appointed Jan. 9 by Council member Carol Klatt. Casaclang is an officer of the Pilipino American Social Workers Association.
Elected board members were Daly City Vice Mayor Ray Buenaventura, Comm. Ray Satorre, Comm. PerlaIbarrientos, Comm. Marico Enriquez, Monica Abello, Jefferson School District trustee Joe Otayde,
Walter Batara, Eddie Rosete and Jose Antonio.
PBRC was organized almost 30 years ago by community advocates seeking to provide culturally sensitive assistance to Filipinos. It conducts Tagalog classes, folk dancing, health and legal clinics, as well as cross-Pacific activitiies. Most recently it raised over $1,000 in funds and almost 70 boxes of relief goods for the victims of the recent storm in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City.
For the past few years it has been operating solely on the generosity of its officers, with the Daly City government allowing use of its facility on Junipero Serra Boulevard.
