Manila, Philippines – Boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao has been invited to grace the “Be Honest Fun Run” which kicks off on March 17 at the Mall of Asia with more than 5,000 runners expected to compete.

“We believe that Rep. Pacquiao is a role model for Filipinos, having raised his family and helped his countrymen through honest and truthful efforts,” said race organizer Alberto C. Bugayong in yesterday’s PSA Sports Forum at Shakeys in Ermita.

National runners and running enthusiasts from different clubs are also seeing action in the race which aims to promote running as a universal way to stay healthy.

Events at stake are 15k, 10k, 5k, 3k and 500 meters run which starts at the seaside boulevard of SM MOA.

Cash prizes will be given to the top three finishers in each category, as well as to participating organizations, schools, and running clubs.

“We believe that a high profile running event to be attended by thousands is the best way to promote the honest advocacy, as well as spread the word of God in brotherhood and love,” said Bugayong.

The event is in conjunction with 32nd national anniversary celebration of the organization. (Clyde Mariano)
