MANILA – Filipino featherweight champion Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista defeated his Mexican challenger Miguel Angel Mendoza in the main event of Pinoy Pride X in Cebu on Saturday night.

Bautista halted the Mexican knockout artist in the 6th round of their bout that took place at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-lapu City, according to a report by dzMM’s Glen Carlos.

Bautista retained his IBF international featherweight title in the process.

He improved his record to 32 victories against 2 losses while handing the Mexican’s first loss in 18 fights.

In the undercard, Filipino boxer Rocky Fuentes scored a 2nd-round technical knockout victory over fighting former WBC International Silver Light Flyweight Champion Lookdiaw Tor Buamas of Thailand
