As an author, columnist, active Evangelist with the GOLDEN GATE CHURCH OF CHRIST in San Francisco, California and founder of FITNESS FOR HUMANITY (aka FITNESS FOR CHRIST), my beloved wife Virginia Jimenez Madlaing and I were blessed to join the family camping and get-together of the Anastacio-Pinay (Rufina) Jimenez Clan at the Coloma Resort & Camping site located at 6921 Mount Murphy Road in Coloma, El Dorado County, California last July 17-20, 2025.

Joining with us at the family camping and clan get-together were our daughter Darlene Madlaing Gamble and his son John Micheal Gamble from Keithville, Louisiana; and our daughter Wynena Joy Madlaing Gacusan and her son Brendon Gacusan from Glendale, Arizona.

The rest of the families who joined the family camping and clan get-together include the following: John Udasco and his wife Joanna Trinidad Udasco and their children Ryan, Jasmine, Noah and Leila who flew all the way from Honolulu, Hawaii; Allan Jimenez Trinidad and his wife Gaby Trinidad and their children  Milo and Kalaya who drove all the way from Portland, Oregon;

Jim Jimenez Trinidad and his wife Joy Trinidad and their children Jared, Jeyla and JP  from South San Francisco, California; Dave Jimenez Tuliao and his wife Stephanie Phong Tuliao and their sons Branden and Maddox from Daly City, California;  Jovito Jimenez Relosimon and his wife Shasah Relosimon and their son MJ from Daly City, California;  Amy Relosimon and her daughter Kristae from Daly City, California;  Jordan Jimenez Cayabyab and his children Mercy and Lucio from South San Francisco, California;

Perseveranda Jimenez Trinidad from South San Francisco, California;  Trinidad Jimenez Tuliao and her husband Demetrio Tuliao from Daly City, California; Angeles Jimenez Cayabyad and her husband Diego Cayabyab from South San Francisco, California; Ferdinand Jimenez Relosimon and his sons Harold and Hansel from Daly City, California; Don Jimenez Relosimon from Daly City, California;

Ismael Udasco who drove all the way from Los Angeles, California;  S. Bill Jimenez and his wife Elisa S. Jimenez from San Francisco, California; Lynn Jimenez Valentine and her husband Ken Valentine from Richmond, California;  Atty. Fidelis S. Jimenez from South San Francisco, California;  Angel/Marvin and Gaby/Marvin who are friends and cousin of Joy Trinidad; Nathaniel Jimenez Tuliao  and his wife Crystal Taylor Tuliao from San Francisco, California.

Most  of the 60 people who joined the family camping and clan get-together arrived at the resort and camping site last Thursday afternoon by 3:00 pm, July 17, 2025.. Some arrived last Friday and Saturday morning.

Thursday dinner was provided by Jim Trinidad and his wife Joy Trinidad; Saturday & Sunday breakfast, lunch and dinner (corned beef, adobo, seafood soup spaghetti, hot dog, scrambled eggs, variety of fresh fruits, salad, coffee, tea, smootties, etc.) were provided by John Udasco and his wife Joanna Trinidad Udasco; Dave JimenezTuliao and his wife Stephanie Phong Tuliao; Diego Cayabyab and his wife Angeles Jimenez Cayabyab, Ken Valentine and his wife Lynn Jimenez Valentine, Ferdinand Jimenez Relosimon and family respectively.

Except for the family of Demetrio Tuliao and Trinidad Jimenez Tuliao who stayed in a cabin, all the rest of the families stayed in their own assembled tents. Our grandsons John Micheal Madlaing Gamble and Brendon Madlaing Gacusan stayed in one tent; and our daughters Darlene Madlaing Gamble and Wynema Joy Madlaing Gacusan and my beloved wife and I stayed in another bigger tent we assembled and located at Camping Site #84 inside the Coloma Resort.

On Saturday morning , the teenagers and some young adult and parents enjoyed floating along the South Fork American River using the floating equipment. After dinner time, everybody enjoyed playing scrabble, rummikub, various card games, etc.

Children enjoyed going to the swimming pool and games directed by our daughter Darlene Madlaing Gamble.

My beloved wife and I enjoyed walking and jogging together around the Coloma Resort early in the morning and later in the afternoon throughout our four days of stay at the Coloma Resort & Camping Site. Quiet hours inside the resort is from 10:00pm to 8:00am. My wife and I normally go to sleep inside our tent by 10:30pm. After walking and jogging, my wife and I  had very good sleep every night. We also enjoyed the fresh air and breeze coming from the nearby American River and the green trees located inside the resort.

On the last  day, Sunday, July 20, 2025, by 11:00 am,  we had a brief Worship Services and observance of the Lord’s Supper inside the resort. Several families joined us like Alan Jimenez Trinidad and his wife Gaby Trinidad and their children; Diego Cayabyab and his wife Angeles Jimenez Cayabyab and their sons and grandchildren; Perseveranda Jimenez Trinidad; John Udasco and his wife Joanna Jimenez Trinidad and their children; Jim Jimenez Trinidad and his wife Joy Trinidad and their children and others.

 We sang “Blessed Assurance” and  “What A Friend We Have in Jesus” During the Lord’s Supper or Communion, our grandson Brendon Madlaing Gacusan blessed the bread which represents the precious body of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our grandson John Micheal  Madlaihg Gamble blessed the fruit of the vine which represents the precious blood of our Savior.

I shared a brief message from the first  verse of the Old Testament, Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” We are all blessed to have this family camping and clan get-together inside this beautiful resort. May we all feel the presence of God as we see the beauty and grandeur of God’s creative power and creation. May we all appreciate God’s creative power as you go to the American River, watch the sunrise and the sunset; hear the chirping of the birds; see the beautiful flowers, butterflies, fruit trees, green trees, breath the fresh air.

I also shared a brief message from one verse in the New Testament John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish  but have everlasting life.”  We just observed the Lord’s Supper which commemorates the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Christ. This is the gospel,  DBR- the power of God to salvation (Romans 1:16).  When Peter first preached the gospel, many of those sinners who heard asked “Men and brethren, what must we do to be saved? (Acts 2:37). Peter answered: “Repent and let everyone of  you be baptized for the remission of sins and you’ll received the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:37). You can decide to obey the gospel today in baptism for the forgiveness of all your sins and have eternal life in HEAVEN; or refuse to obey the gospel in baptism and have eternal damnation in HELL. Your decision today will determine your eternal destiny.

Family camping and clan get-together among siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, parents, grandparents and friends is priceless. Together with the Sunday Worship Services, Lord’s Supper plus regular walking, hiking, jogging and swimming, it is healthy emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.
