Alice H. Reyes: Defying age

Every minute that passes by brings us closer to death.

Down the ages, men have sought a cure for ageing, the fountain of youth, and they have failed.

Ageing is an  inescapable fact of life.

Ageing causes hair to turn  gray, limbs to weaken, memory to fade, loss of hearing and a number of diseases.

To combat old age, people have resorted to plastic surgery and modern medicines to preserve their youthful looks and extend their lives.

The elderly make use of pills to  help them  retain their memory.

To stop trying to defy  ageing is   not in the nature of man.

Scientists  are working hard to fin d a cure for Alzeimer’s and to stem diseases that ail the elderly.

For the aged, in this time of scientfic advances, there is hope!

Retirees should not consider retirement as the end of  their lives. Keeping  busy ,  despite the harnful effects of    ageing, will keep them alive.

While it is true that for all of us , there is a time to live and a time to die,we must  continue defying   age until our last breath..

     What say you ?
