LOS ANGELES – Not only Hollywood celebrities are affected by the raging wildfires in the Los Angeles County.

Among the Hollywood celebrities who lost their homes in the fires so far are Mandy Moore, Paris Hilton, Jhené Aiko, Jeff Bridges, Billy Crystal, Eugene Levy, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Miles Teller, Mel Gibson, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Filipino celebrities also have been displaced as the wildfires are sweeping across the county that has affected some 180,000 residents, destroyed properties and tragically claimed 24 lives at press time.

Among Filipino celebrities affected are Lovi Poe, Ivana Alawi, Inigo Pascual, and model Kelsey Merritt, sharing their experience through social media and reported by Manila and US media, including ABS-CBN, GMA News and others.

In her post, Kapamilya actress Lovi Poe assured her fans she is safe in the ongoing wildfire in Los Angeles.

Lovi, who stars in the Flower of Evil, is currently in the US. She took to her Instagram to share how life has been like amidst the natural calamity, according to a report of Drew Acierto.

The Kapamilya star said she believes that despite the hardship that residents of Los Angeles are facing right now, the community they had built throughout the years is much stronger than the fires.

“Though the road ahead is tough, the community is coming together—helping, supporting, and showing up for one another. It’s a reminder that even in the hardest times, we’re never alone,” she said.

“Even in the darkest times, the city will rebuild and shine again, stronger than before,” she added in Drew Acierto’s report.

Friends and fans of Lovi expressed their relief in the comment section after finding out that she’s okay. Other netizens assured the actress that they will continue praying for all of those affected by the calamity.

Filipino-Jordanian Ivana Alawi, who recently starred with Coco Martin in the ABS-CBN “Batang Quiapo” series,  shared her ordeal, posting a photo and writing, “Outside our homes. Pray for LA.”

Alawi expressed worries about their property in Los Angeles, but later said it “nearly caught fire” during the wildfires.

On Instagram, Alawi uploaded a photo of her home with raging flames engulfing the area behind it.

Filipino actor and singer Inigo Pascual, who currently resides in Los Angeles with his family, said they were forced to evacuate due to the raging wildfires.

“Thanks to everyone who’s checked in. Haven’t been able to respond to all the messages,” Inigo wrote on social media.

“My family evacuated where we live last night, and everyone is safe, including our furry family members,” Inigo added.

He also expressed hope for the situation to improve soon. “Praying and claiming for this to end soon. Sending prayers to everyone in L.A., especially those who lost their homes. If you’re in L.A., please stay alert. The fires just seem to pop out of nowhere,” he said.

Inigo assured his fans that he and his loved ones are safe.

Filipino model Kelsey Merritt revealed that her neighborhood was caught in the blaze.

“Thank you for everyone checking on me, my neighborhood is on fire. Please stay safe and praying for all our homes,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, actress Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan recalled the time when she was still living in Palisades in Los Angeles during her teenage years.

The celebrity mom shared with her followers on social media the good memories she had made there in the face of the wildfires that are currently destroying the majority of Southern California, Drew Acierto reported.

“The Palisades was my home for all my teenage years. We lived at the top of the hill on Charmel Lane,” Maricel wrote.

She shared an old photo of her cross country team for the members of her team that are still living in the US to temporarily take their minds off the disaster that’s currently happening.

Maricel recalled how beautiful the views in the Palisades were–– the affluent residential neighborhood that is tucked between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. She added how unforgettable those moments were for her.

“Walking down to school and back up home after was always a surreal and breathtaking 2-mile hike going through lovely views of the ocean and the most beautiful homes,” she shared.

“So many unforgettable memories of home cooked meals, lots of conversations around the dining table, doing life together with my foster family—The Edwards—while always surrounded by love, classical music in the background,” she continued.

Despite the ongoing fires that’s engulfing the beautiful neighborhood, Maricel maintained that the spirit of Palisades lives in her heart forever.

“I keep these memories close to my heart especially during these times… and the spirit of the Palisades lives in our hearts forever,” she ended.
