As a book author, columnist  and active Evangelist with the GOLDEN GATE CHURCH OF CHRIST in San Francisco, California, I’m  delighted to know that the late Phil  Roberson  was able to share the gospel to Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the United States.

In 2016, an unlikely pairing emerged when Phil Robertson, star of the popular reality TV show “DUCK DYNASTY” met Donald Trump. Phil Robertson shared his experience  in the Billy Hallowell podcast, recounting their brief encounter during a pre-election  gathering.

During the few minutes they spent together, Phil Robertson took the opportunity to share the gospel with President Trump. He explained a simple diagram that represented the teachings of Jesus Christ, who according to Christian belief, came to earth sinless, died on the cross, was buried and rose again three days later, completing what many refer to as the final sacrifice for sins.

In Phil’s own words, “I reached out a diagram of the Gospel. An arrow coming down out of heaven – God becoming flesh — the cross, the tomb. And an arrow coming out of the tomb, and the last arrow  coming down to earth.  

I said, “Whatever happens, Trump don’t miss this.”

Donald Trump appeared engaged by this message and requested to keep the diagram. Phil Robertson expressed that he believed Trump put his faith in Jesus.

“”I’m convinced he put his faith in Jesus and I’m convinced he’s a brother,” echoed Phil Robertson who died on the Lord’s Day (Sunday) last May 25, 2025.

Four years later, Phil Robertson and President Donald Trump met again in 2020.

This story was shared during an episode of Relatable, a podcast hosted by Allie Beth Stuckey, which explores other topics related to faith, culture and politics.  In this episode, Al and Jase Robertson recounted the full story of their father’s second encounter with President Trump.

During the 2020 reelection campaign, Donald Trump made a stop in Monroe, Louisiana. According the Jase, the whole family was there.

The two had a chance to meet again and to Phil’s surprise, Donald Trump still had the simple diagram of the Gospel.  President Trump showed to Phil Robertson the piece of paper (diagram of the Gospel) that he had kept throughout his entire first term in the White House.

“I want you to know I still have this (Gospel diagram),” President Trump said to Phil Robertson.

The late Phil Robertson’s sharing of the gospel (through a simple diagram) left a lasting impression on Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the United States.

DIONISIO GABOT MADLAING’s 

72nd BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

I was blessed and fortunate to attend the 72nd birthday celebration of DIONISIO GABOT MADLAING, one of my younger brothers, last Sunday, June 22, 2025 through a dinner get-together inside his residence in San Jose, California USA.

His actual birthday is June 23, 2025 but he decided to celebrate it last Sunday (which is Monday in the Philippines to mark his 72nd Birthday) to accommodate those who attended the birthday celebration.

The 72nd Birthday Dinner & Get-Together was attended  by his siblings, nieces, nephews, close friends and relatives. Rudy, as fondly called by siblings and friends, just retired at the Santa Clara County Medical Center in San Jose, California USA.

He just returned to his home in San Jose, California after several months of vacation in the Philippines.

Wishing you a blessed, happy and wonderful 72nd Birthday Rudy.

I hope and pray that God will give you more years to enjoy your retirement.
