Last week, Linda of San Francisco, California called Mobile Signing Services(MSS) and requested assistance and help for the signing, notarization and apostille of Durable Financial Power of Attorney urgently needed here in California and in the Philippines for her elderly mother confined in a convalescent hospital in Concord, California.
Linda scheduled the signing and notarization of the Durable Financial Power of Attorney last Saturday, 11:30 am , October 18, 2025 at the convalescent hospital in Concord, California. Before the appointment, I told Linda to have three copies of the documents and three copies of I.D. Ready.

After some preliminaries, Linda’s mother initialed and signed the five pages of Durable Financial Power of Attorney covering BANKING, SAFE DEPOSIT BOX, LENDING OR BORROWING, GOVERNMENT BENEFITS, RETIREMENT PLAN, TAXES, INSURANCE, REAL ESTARE, PERSONL PROPERTY, POWER TO MANAGE PROPERTY, GIFTS, LEGAL ADVICE AND PROCEEDINGS. Then, Linda’s mother signed my Journal of Notarial Acts and put her right thumb mark.
Linda, as the Attorney-in-Fact, also signed the Durable Financial Power of Attorney Then, Linda signed my Journal of Notarial Acts and put her right thumb mark.
The Durable Financial Power of Attorney required two WITNESSES to the signatures.. My beloved wife Virginia Jimenez Madlaing served and signed as one of the WITNESSES to the signatures. Jovie, working as CNA at the convalescent hospital served and signed as one of the WITNESSEES to the signatures.
In the SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS, the document is good both in California and in the Philippines and is governed by the laws of the State of California and laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
After the signing, witnessing and notarization of the documents, it was subsequently submitted to the Secretary of State, Notary Public Section in Sacramento, California for apostille.
