Venus Raj marries non-showbiz boyfriend North Orillan

Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Venus Raj has  married her non-showbiz partner.

“Today is the day that the Lord has made,” the Doha, Qatar-born Venus whose full name cis Maria Venus Bayonito Raj-Orillan, wrote  on Instagram.

The former beauty queen, actress and model, who is 35, did not name her partner whom she described as a “man of God.”

Manila media later reported her husband to be North Orillan.

On Instagram, wedding photographer Pat Dy shared photos of the newlyweds from their special day.

Venus wore a classic white gown with a straight across neckline style from Francis Libiran, while North looked dashing in his light-colored suit and bow tie combination.

A few hours before their wedding, Venus shared a dreamy video of themselves and said, “Today is the day that the Lord has made.”

Venus Raj, a devout Christian, said in her previous social media post that “the right time has finally come.”

“For eight years, God allowed me to be single. Since I have fully surrendered my life to Jesus, I have never entered into a romantic relationship. I asked Him to protect my heart and to keep it until the right man comes,” she said on Instagram last Dec. 10.

“In the process, I have devoted my single years in serving the Lord, serving communities, and serving my family,” she added. “God is indeed the giver of good gifts, He knows His timeline for my life, and the right time has finally come.”

Moreover, Venus encouraged single people to keep on praying.

“If you are still single and praying to the Lord for marriage, please know that God hears your prayers and He knows the desires of your heart,” she said. “The answer might be wait, yes, or no, but one thing is for sure, He knows what’s best for you. Trust His process.”

Not much is known about Venus’ love life as she’s truly committed herself to God. In 2021, Venus graduated from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics (OCCA), in Oxford, England.

She completed her master’s degree in community development at the University of the Philippines in 2017 after earning her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from Bicol University.

Venus is known for placing fourth runner-up in Miss Universe 2010. This started the Philippines’ semi-final streak in Miss Universe, highlighted by title wins of Pia Wurtzbach (2015) and Catriona Gray (2018).
